As of 29 July 2026, severe wildfires have been widely reported across parts of Europe during the peak fire season, with significant activity in south-west France, Spain and Italy. Fires in the Bordeaux/Gironde region of France and areas of Spain including Madrid, Ávila, Toledo and Castellón have led to evacuations, road and transport disruption, and impacts to local accommodation and tourism services. Fire danger also remains elevated across wider southern and western Europe.

Tropical Storm Fung-Wong has intensified into a severe tropical storm while moving northwestward over the Pacific Ocean. It is anticipated that it will make landfall in the Northern Philippines Area in the coming days and could continue through to Hong Kong. Heavy rain and dangerous winds are expected, which may cause flash flooding and landslides. Transport, including airport closures and flight cancellations, along with essential services, may also be affected.

On 04 November 2025 Typhoon Kalmeagi hit the Phillipines, causing torrential rain, widespread flooding and disruption to travel services. It is currently making its way toward Vietnam. Typhoon Kalmaegi is expected to impact Vietnam in the coming days. Heavy rain and dangerous winds are expected, which may cause flash flooding and landslides. Transport, including airport closures and flight cancellations, along with essential services, may also be affected.

An earthquake of magnitude 7.4-7.6 struck Philippines' Mindanao region on 10 October 2025. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued a Tsunami warning and strongly advised coastal towns in central and southern Philippines to evacuate immediately as hazardous waves are expected within 300 km of epicenter.

Super Typhoon Ragasa is currently sweeping through the northern Philippines and Taiwan, and is now making its way toward Hong Kong. Authorities across the region are urging caution as the storm intensifies. In Hong Kong, passenger flights are expected to be suspended for safety reasons, with disruptions likely to begin Tuesday evening and extend into Thursday morning. Travellers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates and rebooking options. In the Philippines and Taiwan, emergency services are responding to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential flooding. Evacuations have been ordered in vulnerable areas, and local officials are working to ensure public safety.

The security environment throughout Nepal remains volatile due to recent widespread civil unrest and violence. Conditions may worsen unexpectedly. Authorities continue to impose curfews in the Kathmandu Valley and other major cities, and military checkpoints are active across Kathmandu. The protests started at 9am local time on Monday, 8 September 2025, and have escalated.

Heavy rainfall in Bali, Indonesia that began on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, has resulted in flooding in several areas across the country, including Kuta, Klungkung and Denpasar. Travel services may be impacted by the heavy rainfall and flooding.
