Tropical Cyclone Bulbul (formerly Matmo): How Does It Affect You?

Are you wondering how Tropical Cyclone Bulbul will affect you? If so, read on.

Initially named Tropical Storm Matmo, this tropical cyclone crossed Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, where it appeared to become less severe, as it passed over Myanmar.

However, its intensity increased significantly and it was reclassified as a Tropical Storm on Thursday 7th November.

After being renamed Tropical Cyclone Bulbul by the Indian Meteorological Department, it is expected to continue to become more severe, and will make landfall over India and Bangladesh as a Very Severe Tropical Storm.

The cyclone is expected to bring extreme winds and rains, which will disrupt travel in the area, and the Tropical Cyclone Bulbul is considered and known event as of 5:30am (AEST) on 8th November 2019.

  • With the exception of medical costs, you will not be covered for any claims related to Tropical Cyclone Bulbul if you did not buy the natural disaster cover add-on, regardless of when you bought your policy.
